Sobral Performance Horses has over twelve years of experience in training horses and riders. Thiago Sobral is also an experienced showman, particularly in the equine sport of reining, with consistent wins at shows sanctioned by the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA), American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), and Arabian Horse Association (AHA).

Thiago (pronounced Chee-Ah-Go) Sobral was raised on a ranch and rode hunter jumpers from a tender age in his native Brazil. A passion for horses and a desire to learn English brought the personable young man to the United States in 1998, where he served a lengthy apprenticeship with legendary reins man and many-time World Champion, Benny Guitron. After training for several private ranches, Thiago started his own business over fifteen years ago. "It was a big step but I have always had the support of great horsemen to help me and have been very generous to me with their time and guidance," Thiago explains. "I have also had great customers who have given me the opportunity to show wonderful horses." Thiago has come a long way in a short amount of time, notching up major wins in reining events with futurity, derby, and aged horses

Located on a private ranch in Montgomery, Texas (just a short drive north of Houston), this state-of-the-art reining facility has all of the amenities needed to train both horses and riders for all levels of reining competition. The covered 100'x 300’ riding arena features competition-grade footing installed and supervised by Kiser. Horses are housed adjacent to the arena in meticulously maintained, large box stalls and kept comfortable under fans and with lights. Other amenities include large grass turnout areas, walker, wash racks, spacious tack and storage rooms.

Thiago Sobral is passionate about horsemanship and wants to share his knowledge and love of horses by training you or your horses. Especially for beginners, whether they be riders or horses, it is critical to establish a good training foundation. Beyond his personal accomplishments in the show pen, the Sobral team is known for its successful amateur and youth programs. Thiago enjoys teaching and seeing his students learn, grow in their horsemanship skills, and experience success in and out of the show pen. Thiago's success as a coach is something he relishes, even more than his own accomplishments.
